Rover was a British automobile manufacturer based in Solihull, known for producing premium cars and for creating iconic models such as the Land Rover (1948) and Range Rover (1970). It went through several ownership changes, including Leyland and British Leyland, before its assets were absorbed by successor companies. The Rover brand is now inactive and owned by Jaguar Land Rover.
